You’ve heard a lot about blogging, it’s becoming a staple on many websites (we’ve discussed it here and here). If you haven’t yet started a blog, it might be time to start thinking seriously about one.
Here are three keys to think about before starting your blog:
1. Your theme
What will be the focus of your blog? Ideas: RV repair, road trips, RVing in the USA, Day in the life of an RV man, Campfire Stories, cooking on the road, The best way to see Cali, Our take on travel. There are million ideas to build your theme around. You won’t have to stick hard and true to one topic, but structure will help you connect with your audience.
2. Your writers
Will you be the sole writer? Can you handle that amount of work? Will you enlist other writers? Who? What are you expectations (number of posts, length, etc.)? You might not need to know this right away, but as you get into blogging, think about what would make for an ideal writing situation.
3. Your blog’s location
You need to make sure you either house your blog on your website or you link to your blog. Talk with your tech people and web guys. Can they add a blog? What platform do they recommend? How easy will it be for you to publish and where will the post show up? Here are some blogging platforms to check out:
You don’t have to nail down every detail, but if your thinking about blogging, start thinking seriously. It’s time to get going and get blogging!
