How can you get the most out of Twitter? We have a few thoughts! We pulled together our favorite tweeting tips for RV dealers:
1. LISTEN. This will always be our #1 tip. Listen to customers, competitors, industry news. The more you listen the better use you can make of Twitter.
2. Don’t talk about your lunch. You don’t need to answer the question “What are you doing?” literally. Nobody cares if you had a turkey and swiss sandwich for lunch, and no amount of sandwiches will help you sell RV’s.
3. Post a pictures. Get a new of “exciting” unit in, share it! If something funny happen at the dealership’s Open House, show people!
4. Re-tweet. Make sure to follow the RV industry. Re-tweet gems from Jayco, trade publications, travel sources, and RV lovers (check out our RV Industry Twitter List to make following the RV industry easy).
5. Make people laugh. Post funny things that happen at the dealership, classy jokes, and funny pictures. The more personality you can inject into your Twitter account the better!
6. Highlight your specials, sales, promotions, Open Houses, BBQs, etc.
7. Brag a little. Talk about any awards or recognitions your dealership, sales team, owner, or community receive. Show us your pride!
8. Link to articles from which your customers could benefit – travel news, budget tips, RV tips, recipes, etc.
9. Showcase your content. Link to bog posts, specific pieces of inventory, special promotions that you’re advertising on your website.
10. Be consistent. Don’t post for three days in a row and then disappear for two weeks. Make posting, listening, responding, and researching all part of your routine. It’s cheap marketing if you put in the time!
